(1) Control Room Operator Materials Handling Plant

Male/Female
College graduate, Technical / Engineering
With 4 to 5 years work experience
With good communication skills (oral and written)
With good interpersonal, communication and motivational skills with a flexible, enthusiastic and committed attitude to work
Must have proficient knowledge of power generation technology and in particular for the plant where he/she will be required to operate
With excellent command in MS Office including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Duties and Functions:

Start-up and shutdown plant in accordance with the relevant procedures, plant design parameters and safety concerns
Ensure and maintain a shift plant status report and log book or electronic logging system of all relevant activities and parameters
Operate plant in accordance with the plant operating technical specifications
Interpret alarms, analyze computer logs and alarm printouts
support the materials handling supervisor in monitoring coal ship unloading activities, coal reclaiming activities, coal inventory VS MW load, and ash hauling schedules
Maintain accurate chronological log of all operating, incidents, occurrences and other activities while on shift
Maintain correct materials handling plant conditions during start up, controlled shutdown and normal operations

(1) Operating Commissioning Specialist

Male/Female
College graduate, Technical / Engineering
With good communication skills (oral and written)
With good interpersonal, communication and motivational skills with a flexible, enthusiastic and committed attitude to work
With advanced knowledge of power generation technology is required
With basic project management and time management skills is an advantage
With minimum of ten (10) years’ working experience in the power generation industry in a supervisory and management position
With excellent command in MS Office including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

Duties and Functions:

Manage the development, review and implementation of operating documentation e.g. instructions, procedures, policies, check sheets etc. related to all commissioning and re-commissioning activities
Keep all required staff authorizations current at all times
Perform integrated risk assessments and mitigate the risks to reduce operating incidents
Coordinate and ensure the timely functional testing of all mechanical, electrical and C & I systems with the different role players
Clearing permits and handover plant to operations department
Compile programs and reports regarding particular plant outages and returns as required
Identify gaps in staff competencies and recommend training interventions for improvement thereof
Give assurance of adherence to legislative requirements by incorporating these requirements in the commissioning and re-commissioning procedures and instructions utilized on the plant during these processes

(1) Control Room Operator Balance of Plant

Male/Female
College graduate, Technical / Engineering
With good communication skills (oral and written)
With good interpersonal, communication and motivational skills with a flexible, enthusiastic and committed attitude to work
Must have proficient knowledge of power generation technology and in particular for the plant where he/she will be required to operate
Successfully completed the basic, intermediate and advanced simulator training courses and found competent to operate a unit control panel by a team of subject matter experts
Successfully completed the required simulator training courses and found competent to operate the bop control panel by a team of subject matter experts
With minimum of (4) years’ working experience in the power generation industry in the balance of plant (2 years as plant operator and 2 years in a senior plant operator position)

Duties and Functions:

Understand and adhere to all local, corporate safety and environmental policies
Start-up and shutdown the plant in accordance with relevant procedures, plant design parameters and safety concerns
Perform changes in accordance with the production plan
Conduct routine plant tests
Operate plant in accordance with the plant operating technical specifications
Interpret alarms, analyze computer logs and alarm printouts
Identify deviation from standards, investigate and recommend and/or implement corrective actions
Maintain correct balance of plant conditions during start up, controlled shutdown and normal operations
Monitor the proper operation of the reverse osmosis plant, water treatment plant and industrial waste water treatment plant, bag house and ash conveying plant, flue gas desulphurization (FGD), hydrogen generation plant, electro-chlorination plant and other balance of plant operations
